Sylvia Druker is an
Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. Trained in England, she
has taught classical ballet and choreographed ballets in England and
the United States. Her involvement with the Royal Academy of
Dance has been threefold: training students for the RAD
examinations, organizing teacher training workshops, and serving as
chairperson of the regional advisory panel of the US-Mid-Atlantic
Region of the RAD.
Ms. Druker recently retired from The Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore
where she was on the dance faculty for 12 years. She taught
ballet to the upper level students and was the RAD Coordinator.
She has been a guest teacher at many schools in the Mid-Atlantic
states, and has taught at conferences, including the Royal Academy of
Dance Annual Dance Day, the Cecchetti Society, and the American College
Dance Festival. Ms. Druker is a lecturer at the University of
Maryland, College Park, a position she has held since 1977. She
also teaches ballet at Berrend Dance
Center in Olney, Maryland.
