Anne Warren is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Dance Studies and teaches seminars for the University Honors Program.  She is a Fellow in the Academy for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (AETL) and a former Center for Teaching Excellence/Lilly Teaching Fellow.  From 1972-1988 she served as rehearsal director and later Associate Director of Maryland Dance Theater and toured with the company as a principal dancer and choreographer in performances throughout the Mid-Atlantic States.  Her work earned her the 1987 "Arts Achievement Award in Dance" from Wayne State University and she shares, along with her husband Larry Warren, the 1986 award "For Outstanding Service to Dance in Maryland" from the Maryland Council for Dance and the 2000-2001 Pola Nirenska Lifetime Achievement Award in Dance presented by the Washington Performing Arts Society.  Professor Warren is a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) and is presently exploring the application of that work to her teaching and writing.
